John Sharwood came to these valleys in the early 1820s and married into the Francis family. He had been Granted a Ticket of Leave and later, a Liquor Licence. He helped the Widow Francis open an Inn in the Northern Valley of the Abercrombie River. Unfortunately she was drowned in a flood.
This is the 4th abode of the Sharwood's. It has been renovated in the 20th century with upgrades. The original house consisted of the rooms in the centre of Hadley Homestead. We are gradually getting it up to speed...
David Sharwood taught me all I know.

At the end of the Fullerton Road, once called the “River Crossing Road”, you can see Hadley Homestead and to its North East “Indigo Bluff”. The sun on it depicts a stunning hue of purple. This is of Copper Ore and looks magnificent. This Bluff can be climbed if you have the appropriate gear.
